‘We should not wait for opportunities, but create them ourselves!’
As ambassador of the Erasmus Centre for Entrepreneurship, I represent Erasmus Centre for Entrepreneurship in stimulating inclusive entrepreneurship by encouraging and inspiring youngsters, professionals and entrepreneurs in the Netherlands and abroad. In doing so, I’m regularly asked to act as a motivational guest speaker to inspire and teach students from the Erasmus University in starting their own business. Besides that, I am a coach of the Erasmus Startup Programme to inspire first-time startup entrepreneurs to turn their idea into a scalable business.
My journey At the age of five, I had to flee abroad because of a war in my home country Afghanistan. After living in Pakistan, Iran and Bulgaria, I came to the Netherlands in 2001. Since then I worked hard to become the person I am today. After my study Business Administration at the Erasmus University, I started my own business ‘Yonousi Business Consultancy’, where I can combine my passion for entrepreneurship, social impact, culture and travel with my business instinct. My team and I give advice on how to establish and maintain business contacts between Dutch companies and companies from Afghanistan, Pakistan, India and Bulgaria in order to realize successful business relationships. Besides this, my team and I can take care of the recruitment of IT-talents from these countries for positions in Dutch and European companies. I can also take care of successful outsourcing of Dutch IT- projects to these countries. From a social impact perspective, I’m investing my part of turnover in social projects in the field of education, care and youth in Afghanistan.
I am excited to represent Erasmus Centre for Entrepreneurship in stimulating inclusive entrepreneurship across youngsters, professionals and entrepreneurs. As I said at the beginning: ‘We should not wait for opportunities, but create them ourselves!’
